TRO is dismayed to learn, via a press release from the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), that the TRO accounts frozen by the High Court on 4 September 2006 have now been “forfeited to the state”. The CBSL-FIU states that the amount in these accounts is SL Rs. 71 million (approximately: US$ 650,000), however TRO internal accounts put this amount at SL Rs. 80,720,924.48 (US$ 733,460) |
